The Zen Bei Okinawa Goju Ryu Meibukan (All American Okinawa Goju Ryu Meibukan Association) was founded by Anthony Mirakian Sensei in 1972.

1972 was the year Mirakian Sensei was appointed by Grandmaster Yagi Meitoku to be the Overseas General Manager for the Meibukan Goju-ryu Karate-do Association.

The international karate-do association was founded in 1960 by Yagi Meitoku in Kume, Naha City, Okinawa.

Mirakian's academy in Watertown, MA is designated as the official North American Headquarters (Hombu) for the organization. Mirakian Sensei is currently the most (active) senior Meibukan instructor in the world. In order to promote traditional Meibukan Goju Ryu, Anthony Mirakian has licensed two international representatives: Hing Poon Chan Sensei based in Canada and Lex Opdam based in the Netherlands.
